Kingfishers heard on the R.Aire and one seen on reserve.
40+Swifts overhead, Sand Martin, Swallow,
Common Gull (adult), Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Whitethroat,
Reed Bunting, Bullfinch, Chaffinch, Goldfinch,
(Redpoll overhead along Grange Road). Also Stock Dove calling from gardens.

Yesterday - Common Buzzard over house at Oxenhope. The day before, Red Kite flew over.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - a decidedly cooler day with a fresh wind blowing produced less sightings. For once Whitethroat was not singing or seen. The raspeberry patch still attracted the Blackcaps with four seen but earlier in the week eight of this species recorded. Bullfinch kept regularly visiting the feeding stations along with many other young birds.

Overlooked report

Sunday 19 July - Heights Lane, Bingley - 2 Kestrel, Pied Wagtail feeding juv, Grey Partridge, Stock Dove, 30 House Martin. Also - Spotted Flycatcher pair with 3 Juvs. An adult chasing a butterfly almost collided with observer.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - Kingfisher (not recorded here since end of March), Blackcap, Chiff-Chaff, Whitethroat, Reed Bunting plus (at the foot of the feeder) a Hedgehog.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - Blackcap & Whitethroat now visiting the raspberry patch next to the hide along with other birds. Male Reed Bunting still singing along with Whitethroat.

morning - A post-breeding flock of Lapwings were at rest and a flock of 15 or so Goldfinch were feeding on thistles.  Meadow Pipits, Sky Larks, Reed Buntings were seen carrying food.  A pair of Grey Partridges could be heard and a couple of Kestrels were hunting.
evening - 12 Herring Gulls, attracted by silage cutting, were in the area.  Two Whitethroats were singing, over 40 Swifts were feeding, six Swallows skimmed the bracken and a post-breeding flock of Jackdaws were roosting in trees on the Glen Road.

A male Lesser Whitethroat was in song at the Old Low Moor tip site today.  
Very interesting ! One appeared in May but I could not locate it again..will visit site again in next few days...to look for any signs that it bred..

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - Grasshopper Warbler (reeled twice with a 3 hour interval!), singing Garden Warbler, Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Blackcap & Chiff-Chaff. Pair of Bullfinch with juv, plenty of young birds eg Greenfinch, Chiff-Chaffs, Goldfinch, Reed Bunting, Dunnock plus Mallard ducklings. Reed Warbler heard briefly.
Chiff-Chaff - a few birds hung around the cage which has the feeders in waiting for other birds to arrive for food. As these birds left, on most occasions, the Chiff-Chaff followed and chased the bird with the food.
