Two, possibly more, Spotted Flycatchers could be seen in the 'horse-field' hedgerow by Glovershaw Farm.  There was another one at nearby Golcar Farm.

There were five Wheatears around the Golf Course, including the 'downy' juvenile which has been resident around the 12th green since the 20th.  A Little Grebe and a couple of Moorhens could be seen on the lake behind the Pennithorne Plantation.

A couple of Wheatears and a Whinchat and a small group of six Curlews which included mostly juvenile birds.  A flock of at least 50 birds, Pipits, Reed Buntings and Skylarks swirled around Pennithorne Hill as a tractor, hauling a large spiked roller, continued the process of flattening the ferns.

Glovershaw (8.15am)
Around the Golf Course there were two Wheatears, one a very young bird with mostly 'downy' feathers.  An adult Red Grouse with two juveniles, a flock of 20 plus Goldfinch and plenty of Meadow Pipits and Reed Buntings on the bracken and walls.

A mixed flock of 40 to 50 passerines, mainly comprising of juvenile Willow Warblers and Long-tailed Tits feeding in the Birch trees.  Across in the fields an adult Grey Partridge was seen with eight young birds.

Otley - 50 Swifts moving west ahead of thunderstorms, 12 Swallow west, 25 House Martin, Curlew with Red Kite & Buzzard nearby.

4 Little Egrets at Lindley Wood Reservoir.  The birds seem to be spending most of their time in the river channel at what is presently the up valley end of the reservoir and so can be out of sight.  Also a Common Sandpiper there, possibly 2 different birds.

Four Whitethroats (two adults and two juveniles) were feeding in a small hawthorn bush alongside the Glen Road.  On the road to Crook Farm an adult pair were also seen.  At Birch Close a pair have been seen engaged in feeding at the nest site during the week.

Sconce/ Glovershaw area - probably saw the same Whitethroat as Paul (see below) but my bird was carrying food. 2 Redstarts near the horse track, 2 Wheatear, Garden Warbler, male Reed Bunting carrying food, 7 singing Willow Warbler, juv Little Owl at Birch Close Lane plus an adult near Sconce Lane, flock of 15 Linnet feeding on Dock seed near Faweather Farm, Wall Brown Butterfly.

Leeshaw Reservoir - 2 Short-eared Owl, Kestrel, 2 Reed Bunting, 4 Wheatear, 3 Snipe, Whitethroat, juvenile Comorant flying around as well as a flock of 9 Dunlin.

There were three Wheatears on the Golf Course and at Birch Close Lane a Whitethroat was carrying food.  At Golcar Farm, a Spotted Flycatcher was feeding in the sun and the nearby trees held a Whitethroat , two Song Thrushes and a male Redstart.  Swallows, House Martins and a couple of Swifts flew over.

Fly Flatts Reservoir - an amazing 31 Wheatear around the shoreline with more birds on the moor.

The work at Keighley Reservoir is now almost complete and the footpath diversion that had been in place from Slippery Ford for most of the summer has now been lifted. The work has resulted in water levels that are incredibly low leaving a dry, arid landscape with several pools and islands that should look tempting to passage waders. 
This morning a Greenshank and 2 Common Sandpipers were present.
