Hollins Hill area - Hobby flying south following Swifts.

R.Aire, Wagon Lane, Cottingley - Common Sandpiper, Tufted Duck with 2 small ducklings, Comma Butterfly.
Dowley Gap - Oystercatcher plus chick. Nest was on the grass between filter beds but chick had slipped down on one of the beds, stranded. Also 4 Grey Wagtails with plenty of young Willow Warbler & Chiff-Chaffs in surrounding bushes.

There was a flock of 26 Linnets feeding in the fields behind Golcar Farm.  In the nearby fields juvenile birds were much in evidence, particularly Curlew, Mistle Thrush and Jackdaws.  Meadow Pipits and Skylarks were carrying food and in the Glen a couple of adult Jays were feeding three of their young.

Sconce Lane area - 40 Greenfinch, 2 Linnets, another Little Owl with young.

This evening, over 25 Swifts were feeding over the moorland. A juvenile Curlew was with an adult, whilst six Oystercatchers, including a couple of young birds, were probing the fareways.
