16 Goosander, 12 Pochard, 13 Tufted Duck,
2 Great Crested Grebe,
10 Moorhen, 3 Mute Swan, 3 Reed Bunting.

Baildon Moor
11 Skylarks were feeding closely together on the Golf Course as a flock of about 100 Golden Plovers circled over.  Lapwings have begun to disperse and set up their territory in the fields around Glovershaw Lane, Hope Hill and Birch Close.

Riddlesden on canal - Mute Swan with metal BTO ring - from 2009 so bird aged at least three years old. Good to see its still going in 2014 with partner.

Bingley to Hirst Wood along the river - 8 Goosander and a pair of Kingfishers on the stretch before the railway bridge. On the rugby pitches, 5 Mistle & 15 Redwing took advantage of the groundsman spiking the turf.

Stockbridge Reserve (members only) - 33 species recorded this morning including - pair of Kestrel, at times in the box, Sparrowhawk carrying prey, 4 Reed Bunting, 3 Cormorant, 6 Goosander ( 3 males courting a female on river). In fields close by - a single Pinkfoot with Canadas, Woodcock flushed, Bullfinch, 2 Brambling & 3 Redpoll (singing birds).

Hope Hill and Glovershaw Lane - Baildon
Skylarks had returned to Hope Hill, there was some singing and chasing amongst the half a dozen birds.  Three Red Grouse sprung up from the heather and a flock of up to 50 Lapwings rose from the fields on Glovershaw Lane.  At 7.30am a Green Woodpecker called from a tree on Lucy Hall Drive before it headed for the Glen.
