Hawksworth - Free flying Male Lady Amherst's Pheasant in dense undergrowth on Hollins Hall Golf Club today. Wherever it came from it's an absolute belter!
Maybe a female too. When I initially flushed them there were 2 birds but my attention was concentrated on the multicoloured one. The male I subsequently watched for a bit under hawthorns. Didn't see t'other one again.
In fact I think it's been there since last summer at least. I've heard some unfamiliar loud rasping calls which couldn't identify at the time.
Drake Gadwall still on Tong Park lake, Baildon most days.
