Snow Bunting were reported flying by and over 50 Crossbills were showing well with 10 Brambling seen in the area.  In addition, there were five Mealy Redpolls, 26 Lesser Redpolls, 20 Goldcrests, one of which was ringed there in August 2012.

Birch Close Lane - 50 Fieldfare feeding on Elderberry & Holly, 2 Reed Bunting.
Sconce Lane - two Woodpigeon roosts of 62 & 60, Red Kite, 6o Fieldfare flock plus another 100 birds in a mixed flock of winter thrushes. Also a single Brambling calling in flight (tapes now checked).

Wharfe Valley
A grey male Hen Harrier (passed through NW), a Red Kite, at least 2 Sparrowhawks, 7 Buzzards, 2+ Kestrels & a male Peregrine.  Also 110+ & 55+ Pinkfeet > W plus 100's of thrushes moving through (in some cases perhaps to & fro), mostly Fieldfares but some Redwings & many very, very distant!

Migration watch from Caldene Fields -  2 Shags with a Cormorant S/W,
single Red Kite east, Pink-footed Goose 89E + 102N. On 16/10 A Rose-ringed
Parakeet flew S/W.
Since the N/E winds on 9th until 15th - 17327 Redwings observed from the watchpoint.
